It’s true. Everything is better at the beach.
Seabrook Island is the place my family comes to recharge our batteries. To me, it’s paradise. I didn’t realize how badly I needed some sun and sand until we arrived in South Carolina last Saturday.
I arrived mentally and physically exhausted. There’s nothing I can point the finger at to blame the exhaustion on (work, school, kids, home). This semester was the perfect storm for me. I needed a week to find some balance again.
I am happy to report that 75 degree days in paradise have done the trick. I feel a little bit better every day. While my afternoons are full of running, sunning, reading, and relaxing; my mornings have been spent preparing for Formative Assessment I. The beach has been a perfect place for this reflection.
We have two days left in paradise…and I am going to make the most of them. My son plans to beat my 74-year-old father at golf (not going to happen) and I plan to keep up with my husband’s kayak (also not going to happen).
What will happen is that I will leave here rested and ready to return to real life. After all, I’ve blogged at the beach…it doesn’t get much better than that.
